For Families

Family Accountability Contract

Boston Collegiate Charter School students, parents, teachers, and administrators all have responsibilities to promote student learning and growth. We are educational partners who contribute our time, energy, and expertise so that students can learn to the best of their ability.

The BCCS Student and Family Handbook outlines what students, teachers, and the Principal must do to ensure student success. This Family Accountability Contract describes important responsibilities and school expectations that families must accept once they choose to enroll at this school. Keep in mind that all the items below are drawn directly from our handbook. We know that the choice your family has made in joining Boston Collegiate is a very important one and we want to make sure that families have a full understanding of responsibilities.

Family Communication

Continual and ongoing dialogue between parents and school staff is an integral part of our mission to work in partnership with families in supporting their children's education.

  • Our technology program, including this Web site and our What's New! page, plays a crucial role in allowing us to fulfill this part of our mission.
  • The school's voice mail system allows parents and students to check daily assignments on the Homework Hotline, one of the most popular features of the school.
  • Each teacher and administrator has a phone line, voice mail, and e-mail so that they are readily accessible to parents and can communicate regularly regarding students' progress and well-being.
  • By signing every progress report and report card, the school ensures that parents receive a written report of their child's academic and behavioral progress eight times each year.
  • The school sends home a family newsletter each week as well as periodic Principal Updates, detailing upcoming events, addressing whole-school issues, showcasing student work, and celebrating accomplishments.
